How do I know if my dog needs a coat?
How do I know if my dog needs a coat?
Shivering or reluctance to keep walking can indicate that your dog is cold. Small, short-haired, and senior dogs may benefit from a well-fitting coat. If your dog shows discomfort, head indoors; a coat does not replace limiting cold exposure.
What temperature is too cold for my dog?
What temperature is too cold for my dog?
There is no single temperature cutoff for every dog. Cold tolerance depends on coat, size, age, health, wind, moisture, and exposure time. Short-haired dogs may need an extra layer. In freezing weather, shorten walks and watch for discomfort.
What happens if my dog gets wet during a walk?
What happens if my dog gets wet during a walk?
Wet clothing can make your dog colder. A waterproof raincoat helps keep covered areas dry, but does not necessarily provide insulation. After a wet walk, dry your dog and remove damp clothing. Head indoors if your dog shivers or seems uncomfortable.

I'm happy to share my feedback on The Puff Dog Parka in Hazel.
I purchased the parka for my 140 lb black Great Dane, and I am thrilled with it. The coat is a perfect fit, which is difficult to find for a giant breed. The Hazel colour looks great on him, too! My dog loves the snow, but he gets cold so quickly, and this coat helps keep him warm long enough for him to get his zoomies out. Highly recommend!
My dog is a chihuahua mix ( ~9.5 lbs 11 inches/29cm long and 16 inches/41cm around her chest) but the XS was too small. Mostly the hole slotted for her arms. I dozed up to a small and it fit like a glove. Perfect. Glad I did.
It is sooo cute on her and the very thick fleece lining seems very comfy. Easy put on and take off. The hood is not something she needs or will tolerate really so I will most likely keep it velcroed but it is cute.
I love the color on my dog. He has a long body and it’s been difficult finding clothes that fit him. This jacket is the perfect size and it looks very cute and comfy on him.
So cozy and perfect fit! Not only is it warm, but it's super stylish! My pup keeps getting stopped in the street when his coat is on :)
Very happy with this little coat. It looks great on my 20lb chihuahua mix. Fits him perfectly. I appreciate the little Velcro that holds the hood from covering his eyes at any point. Would definitely buy again.
This is a great coat. Warm amd cozy, opening for a harness clip and a cute hood. Very snazzy looking and fits great. When I ordered the wrong size, the return process was very simple and they sent an invoice with the correct size for me so the repurchasing process was super easy.
Beautiful coat! Keeps my dog warm while outside and playing in the snow. This coat is a perfect fit for my dog.
Over all a cozy and well made jacket. The only flaw is the design of the hood. When not tied back it comes down over the dogs eyes. Needs to be a shorter hood.
The Super puff parka is excellent! My dog will be warm and dry this winter. The attached hood is fantastic. And the style and color makes a real fashion statement. I'm very pleased !
This is a great parka - it's cozy, and it covers my doggo's chest and stomach area for extra warmth - important to doggo and me because we are out and about in all kinds of weather, including very cold days. It's also easy on / off.
My only caveat is that I found it a bit hard to pull the teeny halter rings through the slit on the back to attach the leash, but I solved that by pushing the rings up from inside, then doing the belly strap up. It's partly because small dog = small halter = tiny rings, and I think with a bigger halter/rings, it would not be a problem.
I went up one size from the recommended size to get extra length - doggo is oddly long in the back for a chihuahua, so coats in her size often leave part of her back uncovered. I was worried that the jacket might be too big, but it fits fine because of the elastic, with room for a layer (probably not necessary: the jacket is very warm).
Also: very fast delivery! Thanks!
