How do I know if my dog needs a coat?
How do I know if my dog needs a coat?
Shivering or reluctance to keep walking can indicate that your dog is cold. Small, short-haired, and senior dogs may benefit from a well-fitting coat. If your dog shows discomfort, head indoors; a coat does not replace limiting cold exposure.
What temperature is too cold for my dog?
What temperature is too cold for my dog?
There is no single temperature cutoff for every dog. Cold tolerance depends on coat, size, age, health, wind, moisture, and exposure time. Short-haired dogs may need an extra layer. In freezing weather, shorten walks and watch for discomfort.
What happens if my dog gets wet during a walk?
What happens if my dog gets wet during a walk?
Wet clothing can make your dog colder. A waterproof raincoat helps keep covered areas dry, but does not necessarily provide insulation. After a wet walk, dry your dog and remove damp clothing. Head indoors if your dog shivers or seems uncomfortable.

Not a chance she goes out when colder than -10c without her parka. GF pet jackets have been great to us over the years.
I love that it is very easy to put on and off; that there is a hole for the harness ring; and the color is beautiful! My only worry is that the Velcro might wear out over a short amount of time. Let’s wait and see.
My frenchie lives in northern Montana on a ranch and could not be without this hood and warmth. I also can spot her quickly in the yellow.

The parka is perfect — my dog loves it! The size fits just right!
This is the second GF Pet coat for my Ruby. As she has grown from her puppy stage I ordered another one. I received the new one today and I was impressed again. The quality is excellent and the fit is great. I highly recommend this company and can especially endorse the puffy coats. Thank you GF Pet for creating quality clothing for our furry friends. 🐾🐕🦺
I love this coat for my dog, Archie, Mini- Schnauzer. The large size fits him very well. He was sick during the last winter, and this coat has been keeping him warm and happy even in snowy wet days.
Mallory absolutely was excited to try on her new winter parka!!! The color is great, yellow, nice & bright so we can easily from inside our home see her roaming in of 1/2 acre backyard, temperatures got frigid, single digits & lately high winds, so we know the sherpa-like lining was the right choice!!! Love the fit due to the way velcro is designed, snug, doesn't slip/slide around while she is in motion evening while running, easy to put on or take off! Looked at many pet stores nothing compares! Outer material great snow rolls off. Easy to wash!! Best winter coat ever, please don't change a thing, it is perfect!!! Next year I may need the next size as she is a growing pup. Great over the phone customer service, Thank you so much.
It is the second year that I order GF Pets Winter Parkas for my doberman Max. It is always a hit at the dog parks with all the other dog owners. Some take pictures of the logo to purchase them, some take pictures of Max cuz they find him so cute. We get stopped on the street by driving cars, asking where we got the coat. We love the winter coats for Max and he does not go out without them. Amazingly easy to put on and take off. Water proof, tear proof and washes easily. Makes winter so much easier and warmer for Max
This is roughly the 6th GF coat I have purchased over the past 5years. I was a bit disappointed with this one as the elasto-fit isn't as snug fitting as our other ones. So it's not as form fitting for warmth and function. The colour is fabulous and I couldn't wait to to purchase it, I'm always on the hunt for yellow clothing for my dog
